I was at my dentist’s office five weeks ago for my regular checkup. I really like the dental hygienist because she is really kind and considerate, and she is really skillful at dental work. But that day she was not too happy. I asked what was up and she said that a man had just called to make his first appointment because he found out about the dentist through the phone book. She said “Sure I can schedule your appointment.” He asked what her qualifications were. “Well I’m not the dentist, I’m just the hygienist, but I have a degree from the university in my field and I have several years of experience on the job.” The man said “Yeah, but what school did you attend? I mean anybody can get a degree but that doesn’t mean you’re any good. For all I know you’re a complete idiot and have no business working for a dentist, especially on my teeth. I’m educated. I have a PhD degree. You don’t have a PhD, obviously. Why should I have any confidence in you?” By that time, she told me, the guy was yelling at her and using foul language. She told him to leave his number and she would have the dentist call back to answer all his questions. At that point the creep slammed the phone, hanging up on her.
