i work for a card store which i won't even name because as a straight man,i'm embarrassed about it.at a party,i told somebody i make a living by gambling.seriously.i hate this job because unlike my other jobs,the district manager doesn't back up his employees whenever he recieves a BS complaint.and they're ALWAYS BS.the company policy,THEIR policy is that we never make change for anyone who walks in asking for it.again,THEIR policy,right?yet every day we get at least ten people who walk in asking for change and when we politely tell them that we AREN'T ALLOWED to,they catch an attitude and raise their voices at us and throw little hissy-fits because how dare somebody not do what they want,when they want,how they want.and if we stand up for ourselves,they will call corporate and lie about how they were treated and of course the DM will get right on the phone and come off like WE did something wrong.one female employee had a customer call her an f-ing c-word and the DM didn't do jack.what could he have done you ask?well,we had the customer's info because they were doing a custom print order so he should 've called them and said "i will not tolerate any disrespect toward my employees so i am refunding your payment and you are banned from doing business with all of our stores"but no.what's important is a little profit and not the self respect and morale of the people who work for you.you can tell who the ***holes are as soon as they walk in and i laothe them all so much so that if i saw them about to get hit by a mack truck,i swear on my eyes that i'd watch it happen and go home and sleep well.they never speak back to me when i greet them.they never put the money IN my hand yet expect me to put their change in their hands.i hate them ALL!if you want to be treated like a good customer,you have to BEHAVE LIKE A GOOD CUSTOMER.right?you try telling that to our DM who puts money spent on pieces of cardboard with glitter glued to them over the people who do the work everyday.to anyone thinking about working retail i say in all seriousness better you prostitute yourself in the streets.having to deal with people the likes of the ones that come into our stores makes you want to choke to death on your own vomit.there is no good in people anymore.so the next time i read about some employee somewhere who kirked out on some disrespectful customer,i'm going to travel to where ever they are,post their bail,buy them champagne and testify in court as to how nasty customers are.
