I work for a bix bog hardware store and tonight i had this lady come into my line who had a bunch of very expensive stuff. about 3 items were from electrical and 2 of them were faucets. the total came out to be $800!!!! she even looked like a legit customer. not one of those ones who are all tore up from drugs or whatever they do.
anywho, she gives me a card and before i even looked at it i asked her if it was a debit or credit. she said she wanted to use it as a credit. then i ask her for her ID, and i looked at the card. it was a card i had never seen before, some weird bank name on it and her name wasn't even on it!! it only said valued customer. right then and there i was flagged. i called my supervisor over and told him what was up and he asked for her ID and he said to just take it and see what happens. the card wouldn't even slide on the pin pad or keyboard. my supervisor told me to type in the numbers and i did. but the CVC number on the back of the card was HANDWRITTEN in!!!! totally a fake card!!! but he said to just type it and then my register asked for a PO # or job name and that flagged me even more because this was a stolen credit card number!!! aaaaahhhh the card went through and the reciept printed out. so this lady totally got away with the merchandise and she probably is going to all the stores in the area until she gets caught!!
and this is all because of our stupid policy where we can't say no to the customers and piss them off where they complain to corporate and then we will get fired!!!!
i am so over retail and these big box companies and the customer is always right when you know it's not fucking true. i can't wait until i'm out!!
